Es ist ein Charakteristikum des Menschens, dass seine Eingriffe in die Natur auf ihn zurückfallen – in den Bergen ebenso wie im Flachland.



Catherine Ludwig arbeitet Korrelationen von Freizeitverhalten im alpinen und urbanen Raum und den damit verbundenen sozioökologischen Verhältnissen in Form von zwei Werkgruppen heraus. Die transmedialen Werke sind eine spielerische Rückbesinnung auf Vergangenes beziehungsweise vermeintlich Veraltetes und erfahren durch das Über- und Weiterdenken eine neue Dimension.... Anreize für weitere Entwicklungen und Visionen werden geboten.



Betrachtet man etwa die Geschichte des Minigolfs, wird schnell klar, dass auch der Freizeitsport Rückschlüsse über soziale, politische und klimatische Umstände zulässt. Ebenso verhält es sich mit dem Skisport, der zudem enorme Spuren in der Bergwelt hinterlässt. Es ist Zeit, unsere traditionellen Sportarten zu überdenken und weiterzuentwickeln.

Catherine Ludwig works out correlations between leisure behavior in the Alpine and urban realms and the socioecological relationships connected with them in terms of two work groups. The trans-media works are a playful reminder of the past or of things that are presumed to be outdated; as we reflect on them, they take on a new dimension. Incentives are offered for further developments and visions.



A brief examination of the history of mini golf reveals that even a leisure sport enables us to draw conclusions about social, political, and climate conditions. The same is true of skiing, which also has an enormous impact on the mountain environment. It is time to reconsider our traditional concepts of sports and adapt them for the future.
