The installation is a result of a six-month research on the topic of artist’s fees, within the fellowship in the IG Bildende Kunst. Segments of my research were already presented in the form of an article for the December issue of the Bildpunkt magazine titled Pay the Artists, pay them now! best practices für die gesellschaftliche Anerkennung vom Wert der Kunst als Arbeit and artistic direction of the publication on the occasion of the exhibition A call to save: A safe place! in Galerie IG Bildende Kunst....
The final presentation kunstnah/kunstfern is partially based on the survey of artists’ social situation in Austria from 2018 is a visual statement and thematizes working conditions of the younger generation migrant artists, questioning their representation in the art circles in Vienna.
