Eigens für den Großen Saal des O.K. konzipiert der Künstler Peter Wüthrich seine große Installation "Die Wahrheit über meine Freunde". Diese Freunde - Bücher - sind schon seit einigen Jahren sein ausschließliches Arbeitsmaterial und Motiv, um dessen Bedeutung und Objekthaftigkeit seine Installationen und Fotoarbeiten kreisen. Es geht ihm dabei weniger um die literarische als um die ästhetische Qualität des Mediums an sich. Ihrer Fuktion als Bedeutungsträger, Wissensspeicher und kulturelles Gedächtnis setzt Wüthrich poetische Bilder entgegen - wie in der neuen Arbeit, wo Bücher wie Vögel das Gebälk bevölkern....

The Swiss artist Peter Wüthrich has conceived his large-scale installation "Die Wahrheit über meine Freunde" ("The Truth About My Friends) especially for the large hall of the O.K. These friends - books- have been his exclusive working material and motif for several years, and his installations and photo works all revolve around their meaning and object-ness. At the same time, he is less concerned with the literary quality of this medium than its aesthetic quality. Wüthrich contrasts their function as carriers of meaning, stores of knowledge and cultural memory with poetic images - as in the new work, where books populate the beams like birds.
