What has happend in our time to the concept of culture? Can it be said to be in crisis? What are the relations between an aestetic and an "anthropological" meaning of the term? The talk will discuss these and related matters, including the postmodern response to the "legitimiation crises" of advanced capitalism, and the origin and status of contemporary cultural theory.
