Der Hangar-7 unternimmt mit der Schau UNA FORZA DEL PASSATO zum ersten Mal einen Streifzug durch die aktuelle italienische Kunstszene. Ausgehend von der Kunst- und Designmetropole Mailand erkundet die Ausstellung anhand von acht neuen künstlerischen Positionen zeitgenössische Zugänge zu Malerei und Zeichnung von Sizilien bis Südtirol.
Der Titel der Ausstellung ist ein lyrisches Zitat des Schriftstellers und Filmemachers Pier Paolo Pasolini. Malerei als „forza del passato“ (Kraft der Vergangenheit) beschwört den Mythos der Unsterblichkeit dieser Kunstform, die einem ständigen Wandel unterlegen ist.... Dieser Wandel vollzieht sich in einem dialektischen Prozess, der sich durch neue Techniken, Motive, Themen und Künstlerpersönlichkeiten auf der einen Seite und durch den Rückgriff auf das Alte auf der anderen Seite manifestiert. Diese Gegensätze charakterisieren das zeitgenössische Kunstschaffen Italiens, wo Nord auf Süd, Industrie auf Ländlichkeit, Design auf Kitsch, Tradition auf den letzten Schrei trifft.

With the exhibition UNA FORZA DEL PASSATO, Hangar-7 is for the first time making a foray into the current Italian art scene. Starting from the art and design metropolis of Milan and based on eight new artistic positions, the exhibition explores contemporary approaches to painting and drawing from Sicily to South Tyrol.

The title of the exhibition is a lyrical quotation from the writer and film maker Pier Paolo Pasolini. Painting as “forza del passato” (a force of the past) invokes the myth of the immortality of this form of art, which is subject to constant change. This change takes place in a dialectical process, which on the one hand manifests itself in new techniques, motifs, themes and artist personalities, and on the other hand through drawing upon the old. These opposites characterise the contemporary art landscape in Italy, where north meets south, industry meets countryside, design meets kitsch and tradition meets the latest craze.
