Do you feel that what you see is too hard to break down in words sometimes? Do we understand what we observe and can we process it? It is not about the facts but it is about what we see. After all, is it "What you see is what you get" or maybe „all you get?“

“The crude randomness of the mind” itemizes every day situations and interactions into a simple lexicon. This language of drawing is broken down into its base parts, crude and simple.... The social video--sketches emphasize the absurdity of how things come together and then fall apart... “It is like it is“. Every living being is constantly 'under construction,' but also, in a parallel fashion, always in a state of 'constant destruction', as Nobel prize winner Jose Saramago said.

Each sketch is defined by its title, which is open to interpretation, though after reading the title the mind sees the dissected element in a new light. This simplified language continues the dialog with the artist in a similar way, as was approached by Barnett Newman and Clyfford Still, Frank Stella and William Kentridge.

These artists are able stop us between our rushed lives and try to practically break down issues to their basic elements. Everything is decelerated, the mind’s eye processes things and elements incrementally make up a meaning. It is absurd, ironic, funny and arbitrary to think of how our minds can understand and define what is around us, just with the constructs we have.

Maybe the crude man is the smartest in the room. Only he can dismantle that randomness.
