Herwig Kempinger Geboren 1957 in Steyr, 1976 - 1980 Studium an der Hochschule für angewandte Kunst, Wien, 1984 - 1994 Lektor für Medienkunst an der Hochschule für angewandte Kunst, Wien. 1987 Outstanding Artist Award für künstlerische Fotografie des Bundesministeriums für Unterricht und Kunst. 1992 Österreichischer Kunstpreis für künstlerische Fotografie des Bundesministeriums für Unterricht und Kunst.... 2006 Kulturpreis des Landes Oberösterreich für künstlerische Fotografie. 2010 Preis der Stadt Wien für bildende Kunst. Seit 2013 Präsident der Wiener Secession.

Herwig Kempinger Born 1957 in Steyr, AT, 1976 - 1980 Studied at the Academy of Applied Arts, Vienna, 1984 - 1994 Lecturer for media art at the Academy of Applied Art, Vienna. 1987 Outstanding Artist Award for artistic photography of the Federal Ministry of Education and Art. 1992 Austrian art prize for artistic photography of the Federal Ministry for Education and Art. 2006 Cultural Prize of the State of Upper Austria for artistic photography. 2010 Prize of the City of Vienna for Fine Arts. Since 2013 President of the Vienna Secession.
