technische Angaben / technical specifications: interactive installation A sphere of interaction to interfere with complementary light & time online. The installation is based on the sky as the medium for the light of the sun - the time - as well as on the rotation of the earth moving the light of the sun in a continuous circulation of light and shade, day and night in parallels. Online sky images from one time zone on earth are projected onto one side of a white balloon (diameter approx. 1,5m) hanging like a sphere in the center of a darkened space. At the same time vice versa sky images from the complementary time zone (i.e. 12 hours apart) are projected onto the opposite site of the balloon. This balloon, exactly placed in between the two projectors facing each other, eclipses both projections. Thus, the shadow of the balloon creates a black hole in both sky images, right there where the light source of the projections originates. In the surrounding space of the balloon the light of the sky interferes with its complementary one and with people moving around embedded in a cosmic sound silence. People are able to select online and interactively the sky of 12 different time zones around the earth and vica versa its complementary ones to be projected on the balloon. Going around the earth one’s finger triggers morphing light interferences of parallel skies from complementary time-zones live. (Aus: Website Hofstetter Kurt)
