This mythologic place in Austrian warhistory could - looking at it´s
Recent urban and social structures more closely - show new frontiers in an 
contemporary context.

The shortfilm deals with the sometimes bleak elements of cityskirtsaura,
Which stand here in clear opposition to a glorified battle and it´s place.

Aspern itself appears to the authors as an area symbolising more than one
Defeat, which is underlined in the film  with help of a contrasting singleframe 
compilation.

Compared with other historic warfields in Europe, for instance the pathetic 
monumentarchitectures in Waterloo, Belgium, or Verdun, France,
But also in terms of nationbuilding, this place offers only a few 
Indicators of historic glory.

In the focus of Höfler + Kronheim Aspern rather looks like a place, where history 
passes lightly over.
