Listen to Your City--Listening to Art : A Tower Full of Sounds Etc.
24.08.2012 - 04.11.2012
Öffentlicher Raum Copenhagen
As part of Copenhagen Art Festival and Wundergrund, German curator, Georg Weckwerth, has created the sound-based exhibition “Listen to your City - Listening to art: A tower full of sounds etc.”.
The exhibition is a tribute to the late artist and composer, John Cage, who would have turned 100 this year.
Until November 4, works by 28 international sound artists can be seen and heard on Knippelsbro in Copenhagen. A majority of the artworks chosen by Georg Weckwerth are site-specific and bear a reference - or a direct dedication - to John Cage....
By presenting works above and under the bridge as well as in the south tower of Knippelsbro, Weckwerth has created an experimential space, in which the sound art blends in with the surrounding noise of Copenhagen and its many commuters.
Copenhagen Art Festival and Wundergrund 2012 is funded by the former Danish Arts Council.
