Here we go again... SYSTEM 317. Marko Peljhan manifests a specific tracking that constantly reflects developments in the global military industrial complex. Here we go again... SYSTEM 317 is part of Peljhan’s ‘resolution’ series. It is both a pre-visionary projection and a forensic analysis, a dichotomy that is very present in his systemic research practice. In this work he confronts the vision, the potential, and the impossibility of the ultimate autonomous exit using hypersonic propulsion technology.... Is it possible to abandon rapidly deteriorating planetary conditions through what he defines as ‘reverse conversion’? Using the metaphor ‘lighting a match and keeping it lit during a hurricane’ he proposes the construction of a vessel for absolute autonomy and eventually piracy. A counter privateering machine for the times when the global empires are once again clashing with immense irresponsibility and destructive potential.
