The Museum of Broadcasting and Loneliness konzentriert sich auf die Geschichte der elektronischen Kommunikation, ihre Entwicklung während des letzten Jahrhunderts und wie sich dieses Erbe heute in einem sich unstet entwickelnden Europa manifestiert. Während die Menschheit ihr Wissen über das Solarsystem und das Universum immer weiter vorantreibt, stellt sich die Frage: Was ist die Bedeutung des Sendens einer Nachricht und im Gegenzug des Empfangens dieser Nachricht?

Im Zentrum des Museums steht der Film Saturn and Beyond, der die Geschichte des transkontinentalen Rundfunkwesens nachzeichnet und sie mit dem exponentiellen Anwachsen von Demenz in Nordamerika und Europa kontrastiert.... Diese beiden Kontinente wurden zuerst mittels dieser technologischen Innovation verbunden. Das Projekt reflektiert über die Entwicklung von Kommunikation innerhalb der Moderne, die zugleich verstärkt und unterbrochen wird durch die Limitationen der Ausdrucksfähigkeit und des Verständnisses.


The Museum of Broadcasting and Loneliness focuses on the history of electronic communication, its development over the last century, and how this legacy manifests itself currently in an unsteady, evolving Europe. As humanity furthers its awareness of the solar system and the greater universe, what is the significance of sending a transmission and to have that transmission in turn received?

Central to the museum is the film, Saturn and Beyond, which traces the history of transcontinental broadcasting and contrasts it with the exponential increase of dementia in the two continents, North America and Europe, that were first connected through this technological innovation. The project reflects on an evolving notion of communication within modernity, one that is both enhanced and disrupted through the limitations of articulacy and comprehension.
