Um auf den russischen Angriff auf die Ukraine zu reagieren, hat Bettina Leidl, Direktorin MuseumsQuartier Errichtungs- und Betriebsgesellschaft die international tätigen Kurator*innen Hedwig Saxenhuber und Georg Schöllhammer eingeladen, ein Kunstprojekt im öffentlichen Raum zu kuratieren.... Künstler*innen aus der Ukraine (Koordination Nikita Kadan), Belarus (Koordination Marina Naprushkina) und Russland zeigen Statements an der MQ Hauptfassade sowie an der Fassade des Leopold Museums. Künstler*innen wie u.a. Hito Steyerl wenden sich mit ihren Arbeiten gegen die Okkupation der Ukraine. Die Solidaritätsaktion wird in den nächsten Tagen um weitere künstlerische Positionen erweitert. Die täglich aktualisierte Aktion ist immer von 18-23h zu sehen.

In reaction to the Russian invasion currently unfolding in Ukraine, Bettina Leidl, the director of the MuseumsQuartier Errichtungs- und Betriebsgesellschaft, has invited curators Hedwig Saxenhuber and Georg Schöllhammer, who are known for their work on the international scene, to curate an art project in public space. Artists from Ukraine (coordinator: Nikita Kadan), Belarus (coordinator: Marina Naprushkina) and Russia will project works onto the main façade of the MQ and the façade of the Leopold Museum. The artists, among them Hito Steyerl, are using their work to oppose the occupation of Ukraine. Over the coming days, this show of solidarity will be expanded to include further pieces. The installation is updated daily and can be viewed from 18h to 23h.
