How does the West behave towards the artistic practices from the Third World? And, why does the West today embrace new tribalism? These questions will be addressed with the help of Lacanian psychoanalysis, which allows us to understand the changes in the way the subjects today identify with the social symbolic order. We will also show these changes affect contemporary art (the turn to perversion in art, use of body mutilation, etc.).
