Als Abschluss und Höhepunkt des "Jahres des Sammelns" zeigt das Museum einen breit angelegten Überblick über Neuerwerbungen und Schenkungen für seine im Aufbau befindliche Sammlung Fotografie/Film/Video. Aktuellen künstlerischen Entwicklungen folgend, konzentrierte das MUMOK in der jüngsten Vergangenheit seine Sammlungsaktivität auf neuere technische Bildformen. Mit großzügiger Unterstützung privater Sponsoren konnte so der Grundstock für einen neuen Sammlungsschwerpunkt gelegt werden, der Werke von Lothar Baumgarten, Thomas Demand, VALIE EXPORT, Louise Lawler, Thomas Struth und Jeff Wall ebenso mit einschließt wie Arbeiten von Matthew Buckingham, Gülsün Karamustafe, Florian Pumhösl oder Zineb Sedira....

At the close of this "year of collecting" and as one of it´s highlights, the museum presents a suvey of recent acquisitions and donations in ist emerging photography/film/video collection. As part of it´s efforts to keep up with contemporary artistic developments, the MUMOK has concentrated it´s recent collecting acitivties on technically innovative pictorial forms. Thanks to the generous support of private sponsors, the museum´s collection is gainging a new gravitational centre with works by Lothar Baumgarten, Thomas Demand, VALIE EXPORT, Louise Lawler, Thomas Struth and Jeff Wall, as well as by Matthew Buckingham, Gülsün Karamustafe, Florian Pumhösl, Zineb Sedira and many others.
