"Dieciséis Proyectos de Arte Español" es una nueva iniciativa de Rosina Gómez-Baeza, Directora de ARCO, para celebrar el 25 Aniversario de la Feria y dar mayor visibilidad al arte español en un acontecimiento tan internacional como es ARCO.
El número de 16 Proyectos es una consecuencia clara del espacio adjudicado y la selección, como siempre, lo más complejo: 16 artistas, 16 galerías diferentes, 16 artistas que no hubiesen sido invitados a otro de los Programas de la Feria y finalmente 16 artistas que tuviesen, como es lógico tratándose de una Feria, una Galería detrás para apoyarles.... Mi intención con esta propuesta ha sido ofrecer una aproximación a formas muy diversas de hacer. [...]

Sixteen Spanish Art Projects is a new initiative launched by ARCO Director Rosina Gómez-Baeza to celebrate the art fair's 25th Anniversary, and to raise the profile of art from Spain at such an international event as ARCO. The number sixteen is clearly a consequence of the space allocated, and the selection, as always, was the most complex aspect: sixteen artists, sixteen different galleries; sixteen artists had not been invited to other curated programmes in the art fair and, finally sixteen artists who had - logically enough, since this is an art fair - a gallery to back them up.
