Sieben viel versprechende KünstlerInnen aus Mexiko werden in der siebten Ausstellung des HangART-7 Programms in Salzburg präsentiert.
Wie schon der Titel sagt, ist die Ausstellung ein Streifzug durch die aktuelle mexikanische Kunstszene, die sich in den letzten Jahren zunehmend internationalisiert und derzeit mit besonders jungen KünstlerInnen auf Messen und in Ausstellungen punkten kann. "So präsent und mächtig die bekannten ‚Murales’ noch sind, so vehement beginnt die junge Generation in Mexiko sich zu behaupten.... Selbstbewusst, aber auch selbstironisch und gleichzeitig durch ‚große’ Themen ausdrücklich an der Definitionsmacht feilend, wird die Wahrnehmung für Kunst aus Mexiko sicherlich in den nächsten Jahren deutlich zunehmen“, so Kuratorin und HangART-7 Programmleiterin Lioba Reddeker.

Seven very promising artists from Mexico are presented in the seventh exhibition of the HangART-7 programme in Salzburg.
As the title says, the exhibition is an excursion through the current Mexican art scene, which has become increasingly internationalised in recent years and which is currently picking up points particularly with young artists at fairs and exhibitions.
“Just as fresh and powerful as the famous murals still are, so vehemently is the young generation in Mexico starting to assert itself. Self-confident, but also self-ironic and simultaneously – by taking up “big themes” – explicitly aiming at the power to set definitions, the attention given to art from Mexico will certainly be increasing significantly in the coming years,” says HangART-7 programme manager Lioba Reddeker.
