Erstmals widmet der Hangar-7 in Salzburg dem Nachbarland Deutschland eine Schau mit Malerei und Skulpturen des künstlerischen Nachwuchses. ‘Mal was Deutsches zeigt von 19. September bis 16. November 2009 zehn Positionen aus den Geburtsjahrgängen 1966 bis 1982.
Die Ausstellung ‘Mal was Deutsches stellt bewusst die Frage, was die junge und noch unbekannte Künstlergeneration, abseits der „Boomkünstler“ der Leipziger Schule, beschäftigt, welche künstlerischen Wege eingeschlagen werden und welche Themen dominieren....
Zu sehen sind höchst diffizile Interpretationen der Wirklichkeit, Fragmente der Gesellschaft, Inszenierungen von Masse und Individuum. Deutschlands junge Kunstgeneration skizziert eine Gesellschaft der Städte und nächtlichen Umtriebe, die sich von Subkulturen, Eskapismus und individuellen Wunschvorstellungen nährt.

For the first time Hangar-7 in Salzburg is dedicating a show to painting and sculpture by up-and-coming artists from the neighbouring country of Germany. From 19 September to 16 November 2009 ‘Mal was Deutsches is showing works by ten artists born between 1966 and 1982.
The exhibition ‘Mal was Deutsches consciously poses the question of what the young and still unknown generation of artists, beyond the “boom artists” of the Leipzig School, are concerned with, what artistic routes they are taking and what themes dominate their work.
On show are extremely difficult interpretations of reality, fragments of society and stagings of masses and the individual. Germany’s young generation of artists sketches out a society of the cities and nightlife nourished by subcultures, escapism and individual desires.
HangART-7 regards itself as start-up assistance for promising artists. Each exhibition focuses on a different country, with the emphasis on figurative painting.
