Fogarasis Arbeiten bewegt sich im Grenzbereich von Skulptur und dokumentarischer Praxis, mit einem Schwerpunkt auf Fragen von Raum, Architektur und Materialität, sowie der Rolle des kulturellen Feldes in gesellschaftlichen und urbanen Transformationsprozessen.

Studium an der Akademie der bildenden Künste und an der Universität für angewandte Kunst in Wien, sowie an der ENSBA und Le Pavillon / Palais de Tokyo, Paris. Einzelausstellungen u.a.: Galerie der Stadt Bratislava; Georg Kargl Fine Arts, Wien; Proyectos Monclova, Mexico City; Galerie für zeitgenössische Kunst, Leipzig; Museum Haus Konstruktiv, Zürich; Galeria Vermelho, Sao Paulo; Prefix Institute of Contemporary Art, Toronto; Trafó, Budapest; Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia, Madrid; Ludwig Forum, Aachen; Grazer Kunstverein; sowie im ungarischen Pavillon der 52.... Biennale von Venedig, wo er mit dem Goldenen Löwen für den besten Pavillon ausgezeichnet wurde.


Fogarasis works in the border area of sculpture and documentary practice, with a focus on questions of space, architecture and materiality, as well as the role of the cultural field in social and urban transformation processes.

Fogarasi studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna and at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna, as well as at the ENSBA and Le Pavillon / Palais de Tokyo, Paris. Individual exhibitions (selected): Gallery of the City of Bratislava; Georg Kargl Fine Arts, Vienna; Proyectos Monclova, Mexico City; GfzK – Museum of Contemporary Art, Leipzig; Museum Haus Konstruktiv, Zurich; Galeria Vermelho, Sao Paulo; Prefix Institute of Contemporary Art, Toronto; Trafó, Budapest; Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia, Madrid; Ludwig Forum, Aachen; Grazer Kunstverein; as well as in the Hungarian pavilion at the 52nd Venice Biennale, where he was awarded the Golden Lion for the best pavilion.
