The Centre for Contemporary Art of Villa Manin features an annual programme alternating thematic exhibitions with artists from all over the world, collaborations with major international museums, sculpture projects in the park of the villa, shows dedicated to artists of the Region and various collateral events. The aim of the Centre is to promote contemporary art in a heterogeneous and concentric way: both by the presentation of prestigious museum collections - which can introduce the present by way of a more “historical” path - and through the works of important artists from the present or curated exhibitions focusing on specific aspects of today’s art....
Furthermore, thanks to its geographic position which situates Villa Manin in the centre of the new Europe, this institution aims to turn to the East through the realisation of special projects dedicated to artists and realities of Central-eastern Europe.
Concentrating on contemporary art, the Centre wishes to become the messenger of a constantly growing collective interest in current art forms and, at the same time, to contribute in an independent and dynamic manner to the cultural development of the Friuli-Venezia Giulia Region. In this framework, Villa Manin has established the SPACE FVG, an initiative dedicated to artists of the Region which will alternate solo exhibitions of painting, sculpture, photography, video and installation. By means of this project, the Centre for Contemporary Art aimes to strengthen and support to the artistic production of this area in its multiple and current expressions.
