Lunar artifacts, self- reflective metal and a never ending homesickness: In “Distant Relatives” we observe a piece of aluminium that claims to stem from the moon. It contemplates its own origins and angrily questions the history of human mining on celestial bodies. Through the use of analogue photo-chemicals, ancient hammering techniques andas well as videos the installation investigates a self-autonomous matter with a yet unknown agency.
