Entdecken und Besitzen. Einblicke in österreichische Privatsammlungen

Basics

Description

Discovery and Ownership takes stock of private art collective acitivities in this country and underlines the growing importance of a committed collectors´community that is also increasingly active on an international level. The exhibition presents a selection of ten collections via a range of reprensentative works, with a particular emphasis on inidvidual differences in the collection criteria. It sheds some light on delicately differentiated aspects of collecting as an activity between the extrems of obsession and conversation, categorisation, and order, and demonstrates the remarkable scope and quality of art collected in Austria.
