Wiener Aktionismus. Die Sammlung Hummel

Basics

Description

With the "Julius Hummel Collection", Viennese Actionism- on permanent display at the MUMOK since 2002 predominatly using objects from the museum´s collection - is now represented through new and different works informed by the collector´s individual approach. Conceived during the nineteen-seventiens, the Hummel collection contains painting, objects, action photographs, and documents offering a comprehensive suvery of the work of the movement´s main protagonists Brus, Muehl, Nitsch and Schwarzkogler. It is rounded off with works by Austrian and international precursors as well as related positions, such as Arnulf Rainer, VALIE EXPORT, Paul McCarthy or Elke Krystufek.
